THE EVENT The Norwegian Centre for Integrity in the Defence Sector (CIDS) kindly invites you to the Building Integrity ADC on 10 and 11 October 2018 at NATO Defence College (NDC), Via Giorgio Pelosi 1, 00143 Rome, Italy. The ADC provides an excellent opportunity for the synchronization of relevant stakeholders involved in the BI discipline. The primary aim of the conference is to achieve an adequate alignment and coordination of efforts in sustaining this discipline. The conference also provides an opportunity for professional development for people involved in building integrity in the defence and security sectors in NATO- and Partner countries.This year the event will be a two-day event where we will conduct an ADC workshop on day one. The reception for all participants will take place on day one (10 October) at 18:00 at The Army Club, Viale Castro Pretorio 95, 00185 Rome (see program). The NDC is located in the military area of Rome called Cecchignola. You need to bring your passport for access to it and the NDC. Furthermore, should you wish to arrive by car, please inform the NDC of your license plate number and type of car to ensure access ASAP (see below).
Day one (10 October)
Day one will be with limited participation from NATO Training facilities or other institutions that contribute with training and education solutions, from NATO or Partner countries. The NATO Requirement authority is also invited. It is also open to adjacent Department Heads and other interested NATO entities. One delegate should represent each organization only. On this day of the conference, we seek to update and validate the training requirements and the existing training solutions. Participants are welcome to propose new training opportunities, which will be further scrutinised by the Department Head and eventually identified as suitable solutions for the existing requirements as identified by the requirement authority (NATO IS PASP) and to finalise the Discipline Alignment Plan.
Day two (11 October)
Day two will be an open conference putting BI into a broader context and will be open for a larger and more varied audience from NATO and/or partner countries. Participation will be limited by the size of the auditorium. The theme for the second day is “Why building integrity, institution building and anti-corruption are integral parts of the security agenda”. The conference on day two is open to BI experts, discussing how to create robust defence institutions, resilient to threats from corruption and hybrid warfare by building integrity. The objective is to create awareness of the importance of building integrity and anti-corruption in the defence- and security sectors. TRANSPORTATION CIDS will arrange a shuttle bus service from/to Laurentina Station, the final station on the Metro B-line, which is closest to the NATO Defence College (NDC) where the Conference will take place. You will find the bus when you exit the station to the right, in via di Vigna Murata (link). It will have a sign "BI ADC 2018". ACCOMMODATION Each participant will be responsible to book his/her own hotel room for the duration of the Conference. We recommend you book a hotel in the vicinity of the B-line metro (see transportation above).
