Mentor Vrajolli

Mr. Mentor Vrajolli is the Team Leader for the CIDS Project in Kosovo, a position that he officially took in January 2023.  However, he has a long affiliation with CIDS, having served as Acting Team Leader three times (March-June 2016; August 2019-July 2020; and May – December 2022). 

Mr. Vrajolli has a legal studies background, having studied in the Law Faculty of the University of Prishtina. Nevertheless, his familiarity with the security sector begins in 2008 when he started working as a researcher for the Kosovar Centre for Security Studies which is a very well-known local non-governmental think tank focused on good governance in the security sector. Furthermore, as of 2019, he became a member of the Expert Roster of the Global Initiative for Transnational Organized Crime (GI) where he has been sporadically engaged as an expert on the area of anti-corruption.

Worth noticing that over his 15 years carrier, Mr. Vrajolli has authored more than 30 monitoring and research reports which focus on different security sector areas, including rule of law, security policy, and anti-corruptions.  He has participated in and managed various research-based and advocacy projects and initiatives, including regional ones.  Furthermore, he has been a prominent civil society activist too, having been engaged in advocating on different security-related issues, and an active opinion-maker in Kosovo, providing expert opinions on various security-related issues related to Kosovo and Western Balkans. 

Mr. Vrajolli considers that being a member of the CIDS team represents a great opportunity for his professional development. Likewise, it is a great opportunity for him to provide more direct contributions in supporting Kosovo’s institutions during this transitioning period to develop good governance and integrity-building practices in the security sector.
